To celebrate our talented lampshade kit makers everywhere we’re excited to launch #memadeshade, our new monthly Instagram competition! It’s a chance to show off what you’ve created with one of our Needcraft lampshade making kits and WIN a lampshade making goodies, as well as a maker profile on our blog!
Whether you’ve just made a your first ever lampshade from a Needcraft kit or you’re fast becoming a master, this is literally your chance to shine!
How to enter
Simply take a picture of your proudest lampshade from one of our kits and enter on Instagram following the steps below:
1. Follow @needcraft if you haven’t already
2. Post an image of a lampshade you’ve made from an @needcraft lampshade making kit and tag with #memadeshade and the type of kit you used i.e 30cm Drum shade kits, Square kit etc.
And any size and shape can be entered so display those drums shades, exhibit your empires and reveal your rectangles – any lampshade from one of our kits counts!
What can you win?
Each month you can win a brilliant kit, selected from our Lampshade and Craft kit range. We're kicking off with one of our most sizeable shades - our 70 cm lampshade kit - it's a real statement shade. Postage and packing is also included as part of the prize.
And to add to the prize we'll also show off a handful of the #memadeshade entries here on the Dannells blog, along with a mini profile of the winning shade maker.
What else do you need to know?
If you've not even thought about making a lampshade from a kit don't panic! Our #memadeshade Instagram competition is a monthly competition , therefore you've plenty of time to give one of our lampshade kits a try.
Every month the #memadeshade competition will be open from entries from 00:00 GMT on the first of every month to 23:59 GMT on the final day of the month. So for February the completion is open from 1st February and closes at 22:59 GMT on 29th February. Any entries received after this time will be rolled over into the following month.

How will the winner be picked?
Winners will be picked at random and notified on Instagram the Monday following the closing date.
