4 handmade lampshades your Mum will love

Although we're not denying anyone chocolates and flowers (they're our favourites too!), for Mother's Day this year why not treat your Mum to something that will stand the test of time?

If you haven't got the time to get ahead and make a bespoke lampshade using one of our lampshade making kits, we've curated a range of handmade shades, from the long list of Dannells' professional lampshade makers, to help you find the perfect gift.

And what better way to support other creatives and show your Mum that you know your her inside out ?

The Golden Touch

These beautiful Empire shades, from Candid Owl have accents of metallic gold in the Sakura Flowers cotton . Cleverly matched with a metallic champagne lining , these would look stunning on a pair of table lamp bases or as a single pendant shade. We love the unusual twist of the fabric that uses light florals on a dark background with a stand out effect.

Space Race

This fun retro inspired reminds us of the The Jetsons TV cartoon show and will definitely add a touch of Mid Century Modern to your Mum's home. With it's strong eye catching Atomic Sputnik design, it will bring any room to life and is available from Little Red Robin Co in three different sizes.

Get the green light

Browsing The Lampshade Loft's wide variety is always a pleasure and this on trend green paper shade caught our eye. Made from a stunning hand marbled paper sourced from Denmark, the pattern elegantly drifts across the shade and is topped and tailed with a contemporary black bias finish and a white paper lining. Another sideboard head turner.

Lightscape

This beautiful pencil illustrated landscape in a range of greys and blues, is digitally printed onto parchment and will surely make a thoughtful gift for Mother's Day. Drawn, designed and made my hand, by the super talented A Northern Light this shade has the unique addition of solid wooden rings, creating a natural finish, completing what can only be described as a true work of art.
